I’m a proud Baltimorean and so excited to give back to this amazing city with Nia. This funky fusion of dance, healing arts, and martial arts helped me *move* through an over two year funk, has brought me self-confidence, friendship, and has made my whole outlook on life more positive and uplifting. I see my personal growth and Baltimore city as on parallel paths, entities with depth of character, at times a bit misunderstood, beautiful at the core, and continuously healing. With gorgeous spaces, people, and communities in Baltimore who are so dedicated to making it a better place, the future looks bright. The Movement Lab is a shining example of this innovation and collaboration, and I am so grateful to continue to better myself while sharing my joy with others in this inspiring space.

Beth MacMullan

plant based yogi / mother / compassionate being / educator / lover of water / meditator / life long student / kids yoga enthusiast / dedicated friend and supporter of others / libra / Vata-Pitta / Hatha Raja Yoga teacher trainer / RYT 200

Yoga changed my life, and it is my intention to live the life of a yogi. I seek to share the classical practice with others so that they may connect with their innermost nature and supreme self which is always in a state of peace and bliss. I am honored to share the Hatha Raja Yoga teachings which concentrate on Asana (postures), Pranayama (breathing techniques), Dharana (concentration) and Dhyana (meditation). As Sri Dharma Mittra says, “All is within.”

I first started doing yoga at Hamilton College as an acting warm-up. Quickly, I fell in love with the whole practice and noticed positive changes in my mind and body and a greater connection to spirit. Since receiving my yoga teacher certification in 2010, teaching yoga has brought me to churches, schools, hospitals, women’s shelters, gyms, private homes and studios throughout Minnesota, Chicago, New York, and now Baltimore. In addition to my yoga teacher certification, I also have a master’s degree in creative arts therapy from New York University. Kelcie Mack

Lover of the process / painter / believer in free will / artist / beach babe / explorer / Ashtanga practitioner / reader / critical thinker / podcast listener / passionate / traveller /plant mom / dog lover / inversion junkie

I was born and raised in New Jersey just a few blocks from the beach, and will
always be in love with the ocean. I currently live in Baltimore, but love to travel and explore the world. I received my 200hr yoga teacher certification in Koh Samui, Thailand with an amazing group of teachers and students. I am in love with the process and recognize the importance of showing up for myself, every damn day. I hope to encourage my students to self reflect, critically think, and look beyond the asanas to truly appreciate the practice.

Erica Schommer

Jersey Girl turned Baltimorean / Scorpio / Seeker of Truth & Wisdom / Patient Listener / Vinyl Enthusiast / Hula Hooping Hobbyist / Yoga Instructor / Mental Health Advocate & Professional

My intention in each class is to bring yoga into the hearts of others as more than just a physical practice. I enjoy weaving in elements of yoga philosophy to create an experience that is nurturing for the body, mind, and spirit. As an advocate for expressive therapies, I strongly believe that yoga’s adaptability is what makes it a lifelong practice. Regardless of age, body type, culture, and lifestyle, yoga can be a remarkable vehicle for change.

Annie Truax Dunn

Eternal Optimist / Community Builder / Newlywed / Barre + Yoga Instructor / Lung Cancer Advocate / Pup Mama / Marathoner

Proud to be born and raised in Baltimore, after heading down South for college something about Charm City called me back home. My yoga journey began quite unexpectedly when I (reluctantly) rolled out my mat once a week to prevent injury during marathon training, and after finding my way to power vinyasa and the stillness that comes from connecting breathe to movement, I was hooked! After experiencing a significant loss I found myself called to my mat more and more frequently, and am so grateful to the fitness community for lifting me up during dark times that I now strive to inspire students to find healing and self-love through their practice as well.

CJay Phillip

Dance is where I find my voice and my power.  I believe that dance allows people to better express themselves and elevate expectations within themselves to become successful community members that can achieve greatness. Through movement, whether it is through Hip-Hop dance, Zumba, or Jumping Fitness, I hope to not only help people recognize their full potential and self-worth, but also to foster positive relationships that strengthen communities.

I’m inspired to bring the gift of mindfulness to others and give people tools to live each day in the present moment.
